Viral videos by region

Learn how to retrieve a list of YouTube's viral videos based on a specified region. To get the most popular videos for a particular geographic region, you need to provide the Region Code parameter.

Parameters

Region Code

Filters the results by region. Enter the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code for the region you are interested in. For example:

  • US for the United States
  • IN for India
  • DE for Germany
  • TW for Taiwan

Default value: US

For a complete list of country codes, refer to the Wikipedia country code list.

Maximum Results

Specifies the maximum number of results to return. The API natively supports 50 results for this type of query.

Note: Pagination allows Tube2Sheet to retrieve more than the 50 results natively supported by the YouTube API for this query type. When you request more than 50 results, Tube2Sheet automatically makes multiple API calls, each retrieving up to 50 results, to fulfill your request. Each of these calls counts separately against your monthly request quota, so requesting 500 results would use 10 requests from your quota.

Video Category ID

Filter video search results by category. Note that not all categories may be available in every region. Options include:

  • 20: Gaming
  • 21: Videoblogging
  • 22: People & Blogs
  • 43: Shows
  • 44: Trailers

Chart

Defines the chart type for retrieving viral videos. The only acceptable value is mostPopular.

Event Type

Limit search to broadcasting events. Options include:

  • Completed broadcasts
  • Active broadcasts
  • Upcoming broadcasts
