Parameters

Dimension

The dimension is set to "Country" which provides a breakdown of metrics by viewer location.

Start Date

The beginning date for fetching analytics data in format YYYY-MM-DD (e.g., 2024-01-01).

  • Cannot be in the future.

End Date

The end date for fetching analytics data in format YYYY-MM-DD (e.g., 2024-09-30).

  • Cannot be in the future.
  • Must be after Start Date.

Tip: For scheduled requests, you may need to update the date daily. Instead of specifying the date manually, you can use 'today' or 'yesterday' as the parameter. When the request runs, the date will automatically adjust to the desired day.

IDs

Specifies the channel for which to retrieve data.

  • Options:
    • "channel==MINE": Fetches data for your own channel.
    • "channel==CHANNEL_ID": Retrieves data for a specific channel you own.

Sort (Optional)

Default sort is by annotation click-through rate in descending order ("-annotationClickThroughRate").

  • Examples:
    • "-views" for sorting by views in descending order
    • "-likes" for sorting by likes in descending order
    • "-annotationImpressions" for sorting by annotation impressions in descending order

Tip: You can find the technical names of the metrics you can sort by when you click on the chart symbol at the bottom of the Parameters section.

Filters (Optional)

Defines specific data criteria:

  • Examples:
    • "country==US" to see data only from the United States
    • "country==GB" to see data only from the United Kingdom

Columns

  • Dimension: Country code (e.g., US, GB, DE, JP).

  • Views: Total number of video views from each country.

  • Likes: The total number of likes from viewers in each country.

  • Annotation Click-Through Rate: The percentage of annotations that were clicked by viewers from each country. This metric helps understand how engaging your annotations are to different audiences.

  • Annotation Close Rate: The percentage of annotations that were manually closed by viewers from each country. A high close rate might indicate that annotations are perceived as intrusive by certain audiences.

  • Annotation Impressions: The total number of times annotations were shown to viewers from each country.

Notes

  • Results are automatically sorted by annotation click-through rate in descending order unless specified otherwise.
  • Country codes follow the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 standard (e.g., US for United States, GB for United Kingdom).
  • This query is particularly useful for understanding how viewers from different countries interact with your video annotations and can help optimize annotation strategy for different regions.
  • All metrics are filtered to show data only from the specified country when using filters.
