1. What are the differences between using Tube2Sheet for free and with a Pro license?
The free version of Tube2Sheet provides the core functionality of the add-on, which is sufficient for most users. However, the Pro plan is designed for professional users who need more frequent request executions and access to request scheduling. Scheduling allows requests to be automatically updated at specified intervals without the need to manually log into Google Spreadsheets.
Free Plan:
- Request executions: Up to 250 request runs per month
- Scheduling: Not available
Pro Plan ($10/month):
- Request executions: Up to 1,000 request runs per month
- Scheduling: Available
Request Runs: Each request run represents a single call made to an external API, whether manually triggered or scheduled.
- Note: The YouTube Data API returns up to 50 rows per request. If you request more than 50 rows (e.g., 100), Tube2Sheet will paginate the data, making multiple API calls. Each of these calls counts as a separate request run.
Thank you for choosing Tube2Sheet! We're excited to help you get the most out of our add-on. If you have any questions or suggestions for improvement, please feel free to contact us.
2. What user data do you save and how is it managed?
If you are not a Tube2Sheet customer, we collect and process the following user data:
- Email address: Your email address is sent to our server to verify your subscription status. We do not store this data permanently.
- Cookie consent data: Your website preferences are stored in cookies. Choosing to allow only necessary cookies will not affect your user experience on our website.
If you are a Tube2Sheet customer, we collect and process the following user data:
- Email address: The email linked to your Google Sheets account.
- Cookie consent data: Your website preferences are stored in cookies. Limiting cookies to necessary ones will not impact your user experience.
- Subscription information: For paid users, we use Paddle as our payment provider, which gives us access to your subscription details. This is required to assist with actions like canceling subscriptions or issuing refunds. It also enables us to deliver the additional Pro functionality of the Tube2Sheet Add-On in your Google Spreadsheets.
All other data, including:
- Requests you create
- User settings
- Results from API calls (manual and scheduled)
are stored directly in your Google Sheet or Google Sheets session and are never accessible to us.
3. How does Tube2Sheet support multiple users collaborating on a Google Spreadsheet?
Tube2Sheet supports collaboration on the same spreadsheet by multiple users:
All requests created by any user are visible and can be executed by anyone with access to the spreadsheet.
Only the user who created a request can modify or delete it. If another user attempts to save changes or delete the request, an error message will be shown.
The scheduling service is user-specific. A user's scheduling service will only execute requests created by that particular user.
Note: A factory reset initiated by one user will remove all requests stored in a Google Spreadsheet, including those created by other users.
4. Is there a quota for using the YouTube Data API?
Yes, there is a quota for using the YouTube Data API, measured in units. Each API request consumes a certain number of units, depending on the complexity of the operation.
For a detailed breakdown of how these token costs are calculated, please refer to the official YouTube Data API documentation.
When using Tube2Sheet to retrieve data from the API, requests are made on behalf of the add-on, so your personal YouTube API quota remains unaffected. To ensure the stability of our service, Tube2Sheet enforces a usage quota for each user within the add-on itself. Please note that we do not track, store, or analyze individual user activity. The user quota is enforced locally on your instance.
